Hey everyone! I told you guys this was coming but definitely want to take some time to thank you all for your support and share some updates!
As a couple of you know, we hit 2k subbies on YouTube yesterday! So many of you have been with me since we were barely at 100 subscribers and I had no idea what types of videos I even wanted to make on YouTube. Even more of you have dived in and showed your support along this journey and overall, I want to thank absolutely every one of you. You joined lives, become such valuable members of our discord community, been a joy to meet in world, and it genuinely brightens my day to see your comments on videos. I’ve honestly never had this much support in all my many long (I’m old) Second Life years and I really do appreciate it.
I have lots of fun new projects coming up for both YouTube and Second Life that I’ll be sharing over the next couple of weeks. Of course, including the newest Vanderbuilt Estates sim. This sim is close to home as I wanted to build a place that really represents the real LA that I know and love. I went out, took photos of my own neighborhood, captured some of my favorite things about this city and we’re building the foundation for a place I hope to call home alongside some of you.
And it’s just a start. Equipped with The Vanderbuilt for entertainment and employment, the sim will also host plenty of commercial properties for you to open business – either financial or role play, open stores, satellite offices, etc. This sim wouldn’t be me if there weren’t a fun back story and potential to role play. And of course, we’ve set it up on the grid and partnered with a great company in world so we can just continue to attach sims to it as we grow.
My next subathon will happen right on the streets of this new sim (I’ve yet to come up with a city name so totally open to suggestions).
In terms of YouTube! I have so many ideas that sometimes its hard to even start. Finding the time for editing is challenging with my First Life job but its something I am super excited to do so expect some new video types, including the next episode of Vanderbuilt Diaries – where I share both Meela’s acquisition of this new city along with her pregnancy. More fashion, more decorating and more events! It blows my mind when I look at how many videos we’ve done since November because I really do feel like I’m only just getting started but I am so excited for the road ahead.
As with everything, it truly takes a village. I am able to focus on creating content because many of you have volunteered your time and energy into helping me set up events, serving as mods in the Discord and on YouTube, and of course our new Dream Team, that has helped execute some logistical things. Your help has been so impactful! As we continue to grow, I think we’ll probably need even more. So don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re willing to help.
I also say we a lot. I do truly feel as if you are all as much apart of this channel as I am!
And not to bring down the excitement, but to show how much of an impact you’ve had, I’ve lost family members to covid over the past couple of weeks, even more who have tested positive and its been a strain to be the only one in my family on the opposite side of the country, in a city where my only relative here has also passed, in a few months after losing both my aunt and my grandmother. And then of course, starting a job at an organization I knew nothing about after leaving a company that I absolutely loved – one of the hardest decisions I’ve made in years… This has been a wild 12 months to say the least! Being able to interact with such a positive and supportive group has really made this so much easier to get through. Having a project, I can be so passionate about, even though its minuscule within the YouTubeiverse has been everything.
So once again, many thanks… and in my own words that I’ve noticed I say so damn much… see you soon!
